Peach Patch Quiltalong - September 2012 Block

I decided to do this quiltalong for bloggers. I want to have something to keep me quilting each month and quiltalongs do just that since each month has a new block that you have to make.

If you want to join in on the fun just go to: The Peach Patch

There is a button for it on the right side of my blog as well.

Anyway, check out my block!

Harley-Davidson T-shirt quilt

I'm just wanted to share with you about the Harley Davidson quilt that I made. It was made months ago but I'm mentioning it because we're raffling it off. The money is going towards the Wounded Warrior Project.

What's special about this quilt is that our Tifton HOG Chapter donated all of the t-shirts that I used to make the quilt with. I thought it would be a super neat thing to do and it would make it more memorable being shirts that people actually wore.

I had never made a t-shirt quilt before so I had no idea how to do it. I ended up asking the lady that owns our local quilting store how to do it and she gave me great advice. I was still very nervous but it turned out great! Everyone loves it!

New fabric!

So I recently bought some fabric online that was on sale. When it came in I was so excited! They are simply beautiful! Take a look.

I didn't have a project in mind for these. I just saw the sale and decided I had to act fast. I picked out a few of my favorites from the online pictures and got out for $33, including shipping!

This fabric was bought online at http://www.projectanthologies.com/

I found out about that online store from Maureen Cracknell Handmade's blog post http://maureencracknellhandmade.blogspot.com/2012/09/home-sewing.html

If you want to have a chance to win fabric each week and see amazing quilting & sewing tutorials you should really follow her blog! Have fun!

Just starting out

I've never kept a diary or had a blog before so I'm really new to this. I'm hoping this blog will serve to show my current quilting projects and discoveries as I grow in the quilting world.

Feel free to ask me anything and I'll do my best to answer. Also, I'm open to constructive criticism and advice.  I'm still a quilting newbie so I don't know much but I'm anxious to learn.
